Professor of Marketing

 

Sapna Popli has handled roles and responsibilities of a corporate executive, a teacher, trainer, researcher and an academic administrator in more than 20 years of work experience. She is an MBA, majors in Marketing with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics (Honors). 

 

She has offered courses in marketing, services, strategy & marketing research at IILM. Her work has been published and presented in the areas of business education, quality in business education, customer satisfaction, learning and culture in various journals & conferences. Her current research & consulting interests are in the areas of leadership & service orientation. 

 

In the last 14 years at IILM, she has handled various portfolios during these years. Her current role, besides managing the postgraduate business programs, includes major responsibility for curriculum development, student development, international collaborations and partnership development.

  • Presented a research paper on "Measuring Brand Equity - A case for business schools in India" at the efmd annual conference on research in higher education, held at the TheLorange Institute of Business, Zurich on the 13-14th February 2012. the paper is co-authored with Dr. Ashita. A.Sharma, SPJain and Dr. VithalaRao, Cornell University, USA.

 

  • Presented a discussion on Trends in Business Education from Diverse Regions: Who are tomorrow's players? A Perspective from India as a part of the panel on Brazil, India and China as an invited speaker at the EFMD Meeting for Deans & Directors General, 2012 to address the session on , held at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, UK, Feb 2-3 2012.

 

  • Conducted sessions on "Leadership Development" and "Managing Customers" for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited ( BHEL) as a part of the 9th Leadership Program for Sr. Management and the 240th General Management Program for General Managers respectively in November 2011.

 

  • Conducted a program on "Team building for effective leadership" as a part of the "Orientation Programme in Leadership Development for Women Administrators in Higher Education" organised by the National University of Education Planning and Administration. (NUEPA) in December 2011.

 

  • Perspective paper titled “Cross cultural learning preferences: implications for management education” publishes in Management & Change Volume 12 No. 1, 2009 .

 

  • Invited presentation on “Impact of the economic crisis on management education in India” presented at the plenary session at efmd (European Foundation for Management Development) at Brussels, June 2009 .
